What are cookies and similar technologies?

Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which are built into your browser and can also hold small amounts of data on your device. Throughout this policy, "cookies" refers to cookies and these comparable browser storage technologies unless we state otherwise.
How Calcformulas uses cookies
Calcformulas is designed to keep calculator data on your device. We use browser storage only for essential site functionality, not for advertising, profiling, or selling data.
Strictly necessary
These technologies are required for basic operation of the website. Without them, some features may not work as intended.

Theme preference is stored using browser local storage via our theme provider. It does not contain personal information and is not shared with third parties. That single key is currently the full list.
What we do not use
As of the date above, Calcformulas does not set cookies or storage for:
- Targeted or behavioral advertising
- Cross-site tracking or social media pixels
- Recording calculator inputs, results, or search queries
- Building marketing profiles based on your activity on Calcformulas
If we add optional analytics, advertising, or other non-essential technologies in the future, we will update this page first and, where required by law, ask for your consent before placing those cookies.
Third-party cookies
Some parts of Calcformulas rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies or process technical data when you load the site. For example:
- Hosting provider: standard web server logs may include your IP address, browser type, and pages requested to deliver and secure the site.
- Google Fonts: typography may be served from Google's infrastructure. Google's handling of data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not control third-party cookies. You can review each provider's policies and use browser tools to block or delete third-party cookies where permitted.
Legal basis (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or comparable laws apply, we rely on the following bases:

If you delete or block the theme storage key, Calcformulas falls back to your system theme or the default appearance until you choose a preference again. Every calculator keeps working either way.

Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to DNT signals. Calcformulas does not currently respond to DNT signals because we do not use cross-site tracking cookies in the first place. We will revisit this if our practices change.

We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies or legal obligations change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be noted on the site or in our Privacy Policy.
